Lacrosse gaining momentum

So far this season, Cathedral’s Lady Dons Lacrosse team has remained focused on the path to the CIF tournament.
Both JV and Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse are coached by Shannon Robinson, who has been coaching the team for six years. Since Girls Varsity has never won any CIF titles, she hopes to lead them to victory this spring.
“This year, we’ve splitting the team into two divisions,” Robinson said. “We feel that this will really help our chances of winning.”
Dividing the team will give all the members more opportunities to play and will allow the team to put their best foot forward against other schools.
With a record of 7-3, Robinson said that a crucial aspect of the team’s success this year is its Seniors. “They really put in a lot of effort and leadership and contribute to the team,” she said. “Our Juniors are also a vital part of the team, and a large bulk of the team is made up of Sophomores and Freshmen, who provide a lot of energy and enthusiasm.”
Since almost half of the team consists of Sophomores and Freshmen, Robinson hopes that they will lead the team to victory in future years.
“Most of these girls will be on the team for the next three or four years, and we’re really hoping for a lot of team bonding over that time,” said Coach Robinson.
