President of NHS, Catherine Caro, and her Vice President, Sienna Kotsay, plan for the NHS meetings for the 2022-2023 school year.

The National Honors Society (NHS) has begun its work on campus for the 2022-2023 school year!

NHS members must receive a minimum of ten project hours with an additional 18 hours from NHS service contributions. Personal projects that are accepted must require significant time and effort from the primary leader(s), and also offer service opportunities for other NHS members. Super projects are “large-scale projects which define the Cathedral Catholic National Honor Society on campus and in the community,” as defined in the NHS Contract.

President Catherine Caro ‘23, her Vice President Sienna Kotsay ‘23, and a panel of officers lead monthly meetings for Juniors and Seniors, both returning members and the newly accepted from the NHS application period of Spring 2022.

As of late, discussion has centered around project proposals, both personal and super. Mr. Francis Caro, leader of NHS at CCHS, began to sift through the variety of ideas for drives, events, and fundraisers on Friday, September 23. Caro credits the hard work of the leaders during this stressful period of discretion, “Officers are going through the projects, evaluating, and sending them back for revisions.” He hopes to approve well-developed proposals and send their preparations into motion.

Additional events he takes interest in include the upcoming Trunk O’ Treat on October 27, 2022, the CCHS open house, holiday events with the Options program, AP Review sessions, and the Beach Volleyball Tournament.

As students launch into the end of this semester, NHS will provide plenty of community events to keep spirits high and academics in order.
