The girls’ lacrosse team is soon to wrap up the hard-fought but exciting season this spring, showing great determination, commitment, and growth. This year has brought fierce competition, making this season a tough one, but the girls have pulled through each game with strong teamwork and resilience.
The season started with a mix of tough competition and great opportunities for the team to find its rhythm. Some of the early competition included games against Mt. Carmel, San Marcos, La Costa Canyon, and Sacred Heart Prep. These games were hard for the girls, but they definitely did not go down without a fight. As the season continued, the girls took outstanding wins from Mater Dei, La Jolla, Carlsbad, and Scripps Ranch.
A huge highlight of the season is the girls facing their rival team, Torrey Pines, and taking the win. The girls delivered a focused and intense performance. They pulled through even under pressure and were able to support each other and make the team succeed. The girls were super proud of this accomplishment. Natalia Kincart, a freshman on varsity, says, “The Torrey Pines game was definitely my favorite. I feel like our team really came together and pulled it together for the win.”
As the season continued, the girls stayed steady and faced some challenges, but also came through when they played two teams from Utah, coming in with the win. They fought hard in each game, showing extreme teamwork and growth.
The junior varsity team has also stood out this season and they have been on fire this season, showing off their amazing skills and intense determination. The season has also been a super fun one, through team bonding and fun on the field, the girls have really enjoyed the season. Tori Bustos, a freshman on the junior varsity team, says, “The best part of being on the team is how fun it has been. I have made so many close friends, and coming to games and practices has honestly been so fun this season.”
The girls have had a really tough but great season. They were able to show their resilience and commitment to the team with each game. Playing Torrey Pines was also a highlight for the JV team this season. The girls came in with a strong win, putting up a really strong fight the whole game. Lilly Morton, a sophomore on the team, says, “I think our best game has been our game against Torrey Pines. I think our team put in a really strong effort and put up a really good fight, and it was just overall a really good game.”
Overall, both teams, junior varsity and varsity, have had an amazing season so far. They have shown great sportsmanship, teamwork, and high-level skills. The season still isn’t over, so you should go support the girls while you can!
