Thanking teachers tonight

The Cathedral Catholic High School football team spent time appreciating the Dons faculty and staff Friday in the Guadalupe Center as part of Teacher Appreciation Night, an event that included a banquet prior to the varsity football team’s first home game of the season. The teachers, welcomed with food, beautiful decor, a custom T-shirt, and great recognition, gathered with their families on the field minutes before the game. Afterwards, students and fans filled a nearly packed Manchester Stadium with an attendance of approximately 5,000 people. Once the game began, the Dons came out against El Camino High School with an electrifying run on their first offensive play. CCHS led El Camino 46-7 at the half, and went on to push the ball down the field consistently, holding the opposing team to seven points. The Dons went on to win the game, improving their season statistics to 1-1. Last Friday seemed to be one for the books, where teachers, fans, players, and students went home happy.
