Class of 2015 offers advice to their freshman selves

As the class of 2015 prepares to don their red and white robes and snag their diplomas, more than a few underclassman gaze in awe, wondering just how these confident seniors reached this final point of high school. Well, the soon-to-be graduates certainly didn’t breeze through these four years without any complications; in fact, there are plenty of things some wish they had done differently. El Cid collected 15 pieces of advice the class of 2015 would give to their uncertain and sometimes awkward freshman selves:
- “Accept the fact that you’re just a tall kid who hasn’t developed yet,” -Raymond M.
- “Always do your homework and go to every football game,” -Mary R.
- “Get off your phone. Enjoy the beauty around you. You don’t have to Instagram or Snapchat it.” -Emily M.
- “Schedule your detentions for Wednesday. That way you get to hang out with Mr. Fares.” -Josh M.
- “Try to find God. It will be the thing that takes life from bearable to fantastic.” -Adam N.
- “Go out and have more fun. Don’t just workout all the time.” -Narqesse.
- “Believe in yourself more.” -Jourdan P.
- “Don’t be jealous of other people.” -Sabrina P.
- “Never run to class. Just take the tardy.” -Haley N.
- “Play as many sports as you can.” -Will K.
- “Get a haircut.” -Aidan M.
- “Eat some carbs, you skinny loser…P.S. California goes into a drought. Store water.” -Alfredo A.
- “Get to know as many people as you can but be yourself when you do it.” -Christina J.
- “Talk to your teachers if you’re struggling.” -Maddi H.
- “Don’t go into high school thinking you know who you will be friends with and exactly what you will be involved in. Have an open mind, embrace every opportunity, enjoy the next four years and live in the present.” -Lindsey R.
