The Student Life Showcase is an exciting event for incoming students that highlights some of the amazing ways to get involved on campus. From clubs to sports, the showcase provides incoming students with an amazing opportunity to discover what the school has to offer. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, learn about campus life, and discover some activities that can make the school experience more fun and meaningful.
This year, the showcase took place immediately after the placement test, giving incoming 8th-grade students the great opportunity to see all the different clubs and sports our school has to offer. There were tables set up with so many different sports and clubs, including football, soccer, lacrosse, cheer, dance, and many more, showcasing many of the amazing activities we have to offer at our school.
Cate Breen, a student who was in the showcase, says, “There were so many tables set up for a bunch of clubs and sports, and it was really cool even as a current student to see all of them.”
One of the amazing highlights of the showcase is getting to directly talk to student athletes, club members, and coaches who serve as amazing role models for the incoming students. By sharing their personal experiences, they give incoming students a glimpse of what it could look like to be involved in the coming year. Cormac Kenney, a freshman who was at the showcase for cheer, says, “When I was at the showcase, it was really fun getting to see all these new faces and help them become excited about what next year could look like.”
The showcase also really helps students who are unsure how to get involved within the school. Seeing so many different options in one place makes it easier for unsure students to step out of their comfort zone and try something new. Blythe Traino, a student who participated in the showcase, said, “I saw so many different students who were going to different clubs and sports, seeing what would be fun for them.”
Overall, the Student Life Showcase is a great way to get the incoming students excited to be involved in our school. The showcase gives them so many options to look at and think about while making the decision to come to our school.
