The Cathedral Catholic High School girls volleyball team is heading into the 2025 playoffs with confidence, chemistry, and championship energy. After a good regular season and an undefeated league record, the Dons are ready to make a big run for the championship title.

Momentum

This year, the Dons have dominated their competition with an 26–7 overall record and undefeated 8–0 in league play. They’ve shown balance, grit, and focus throughout the season competing with the best programs in San Diego. Their consistency and team chemistry have been major for their success and set them up for a long playoff run.The team’s ability to stay composed under pressure has been one of their biggest strengths. Cathedral Catholic has proven they can handle big moments with poise and confidence because of the work they put into the game.

As the Cathedral Catholic Dons charge into another playoff run, senior Allison Dzieciuch has continued to prove why she’s one of the most dominant middle blockers in San Diego. Dzieciuch says “It means a lot because in playoffs; it’s win or go home. It’s not like league play, where you get another shot. We know we can compete with anyone, so every match matters even more.” Her energy, focus, and commitment to her teammates set the tone every time she steps on the court.

Katherine is a great teammate for the Dons. Katherine is known for her positive attitude and dedication to excellence in everything she does. She is one of the players who lifts everyone around her up and helps the team get fired up before games. Snyder says, “We always have a team lunch before games, and then we get ready together doing our hair, playing music, and dancing in the locker room. It’s our way of having fun and getting hyped before we play.” As Katherine is looking to close out her high school career she looks ahead to new challenges and opportunities.

One of the leaders of this playoff run is senior Kensley Hennessy , whose leadership both on and off the court has made a major impact this season. One of the team’s most experienced players, Kensley brought some energy, communication, and composure to every match. Hennessy says, “Our focus right now is on staying united and supporting each other through every step. We’ve been working on tightening up our flaws so we’re completely ready for anything.” Her teammates describe her as someone who “sets the tone” whether it’s a key dig or just encouraging words to keep the team level headed.

To keep their momentum going, the Dons will focus on:

As the playoffs begin, the Dons are ready to prove they belong with the best. They have the skill, leadership, and chemistry and with the seniors leading the way, Cathedral Catholic could be on to something special this season.
