Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) is back.  With the 70s behind him, Ron and his wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), have left San Diego for New York City. Together as co-anchors, they are the #1 newscasters. But, trouble ensues when their boss, Mack Tannen (Harrison Ford), promotes Veronica and fires Ron. To once again be #1, Ron must gather up the old news team gang: Champ, Brick, and Brian, and head back to New York City.

This movie is filled with inspired silliness and quotable lines. During the first hour of the movie, I thought I was going to explode from laughter, especially when Ron and his team were completely flabbergasted by the fact that their boss was an African American female. Anchorman 2 doesn’t have the most consistent plot, but with Will Ferrell’s amazing performance and buffoonish acts, one can’t help but not really care about the consistency of the plot.

However, deviating from the plot is one thing, but starting a whole new nonsense plot in the last 30 minutes of the movie is down right ridiculous. The cameos were fun, but the number of cameos was ridiculous. One or two is acceptable, but there were at least 10. I enjoyed that the whole star-studded cast returned in the sequel. But, I did not like that a Battle Royale ensued against news cast teams at the end of the movie. I was lost and confused, and kind of annoyed when the cameos, which included Liam Neeson, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Will Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, and a lot of other A-list actors, joined the movie in one 5-minute scene. It was silly and down right dumb. Nothing made sense anymore. With the exception of the nonsense plot toward the end of the movie, I did enjoy this film, and I would recommend everyone to go see it because ultimately it gives the best message: Ron Burgundy will always be the #1 news anchor.
