Cole Hume, Editor-in-Chief
Serving as Managing Editor for two years and writing more than 20 El Cid stories prepared me for the critical role of Editor-in-Chief, where I plan to advance El Cid through exploring mediums and honing journalistic skills. Whether a journalist is informing a voting citizenry or a Southern California high school, the responsibility is immense, and I embrace that function of watchdog. Aside from writing, I enjoy playing basketball, reading, and spending time with friends no matter the occasion. Following high school, I plan to double-major in political science and journalism, and hopefully blend the degrees into a successful career in politics, law, or journalism. I consider myself a critical thinker, as I am excellent at identifying how and where progress can be achieved. With that mindset, I hope to enter El Cid into an era of innovation with coverage through a variety of mediums that is comprehensive and consistent. As Editor-in-Chief, I promise readers a meticulously researched and groomed product that brilliantly transcends one’s expectation
