Neve Walker

Neve Walker, Politics & News Editor

Whenever there is a big new story, whether on campus or off, you’ll find Neve Walker at the heart of it. Neve is a senior at Cathedral, and in her second years thus far on the staff of El Cid Online, she’s already made quite the impact on campus. When she isn’t busy being working on the El Cid website, or performing duties as president of CCHS Model UN, Neve enjoys researching, reading, and writing. “Everything I do is with a purpose,” says Neve, “And that purpose is becoming a better writer.” Neve loves using writing to inform and to educate, not only others, but also herself. When it comes to current events, especially politics, which are her favorite subjects, Neve says, “I love looking at new perspectives, and taking a walk in other poeple’s shoes. Even if I don’t agree with someone, I still want to look at the world from their perspective.” Neve’s go-getter attitude has landed her numerous writing opportunities, such as working for student run magazines such as The Affair, and even an internship at The San Diego Union Tribune. After she graduates, Neve aspires to become an ambassador of the United Nations.

Our biggest conference yet, Three participants! Throughout my four years at Cathedral the biggest delegation we brought to a school was three students, we have also brought two students once and one student twice. We need to change the way we think about clubs and their place at Cathedral before it is too late.

During the Union Address, a statement was made by President Joe Biden which set off the Republican Party to boo and heckle at him, prompting him to smile and tell the representatives to contact his office to send them the exact proposal he is referring to. Rep Majorie Taylor Greene was seen yelling “lier” to Biden.
