CCHS is making a splash with this year’s prom theme and location!

Prom 2023 will take place at Birch Aquarium, located in La Jolla, the jewel of San Diego. The dance’s theme pays homage to San Diego’s most prominent features—the ocean!

Birch Aquarium is home to over 5,000 fish of all different colors, shapes, and sizes. Inside you’ll find a plethora of different exhibits—including a two story, 70,000 gallon deep Giant Kelp Forest tank, which allows guests to peek into the world of underwater forests, a dazzling display of one of San Diego’s most prominent aquatic ecosystems.

Other areas to explore include the Hall of Fishes, which displays the diversity of Pacific marine life, stretching from the chilly Northwest waters to the tropical tides of Mexico. Here you’ll find cute clownfish, glowing moon jellies, and a rescued Loggerhead Sea Turtle, just to name a few!

The aquarium’s outdoor exhibits feature Tide Pool Plaza, a chance for guests to get hands on with their aquatic encounters. You can get up close and personal with sea stars, sea cucumbers, hermit crabs, and even lobsters!

In addition to state of the art touch pools, the plaza features a breathtaking overlook of gorgeous La Jolla’s stunning shores, a perfect panoramic photo-op.

Birch Aquarium is a beautiful hidden gem in one of San Diego’s finest communities. The venue is sure to make for an unforgettable night, and is the perfect place to snap prom pics.
