Approximately 4,500 people, including 75 Cathedral Catholic High School students, attended the 8th Annual San Diego Walk for Life last Saturday to advocate for the rights of the unborn with the theme “Live, Serve, and Embrace Life.”

“It was super impactful to see all the people, old and young, there to pray and advocate for life,” CCHS student and Dons for Life Club member Kate Fernandez ’20 said. 

The event began at 8 a.m. at 6th and Laurel St, and featured more than 50 booths with emergency pregnancy support, Catholic outreach programs, abortion solidarity groups, and other various resources necessary to support choosing life. 

“I was extraordinarily surprised and excited to see the great plethora of resources that were available as tangible ways for expecting and new mothers to have support in ways that were wholesome and met their desires and needs outside pregnancy,” DFL leader Cecilia Bacich ‘20 said. 

The march started at 11 a.m., with Dons for Life leading the march behind the Knights of Columbus, a charitable giving and fraternal service. 

“The youth desired to lead the march, and what better way than to have CCHS students represent the youth,” Bacich said.
