Cathedral Catholic High School faculty and students held a brief farewell party last Friday to commemorate Father Patrick Wainwright, who will leave the Dons community at the end of the 2018-19 school year to embark on a new journey with the Miles Christi Religious Order in Michigan.

“Supporting the students through spiritual direction meetings and praying with the different teams before their games are my favorite memories from my six years at CCHS,” Father Wainwright said.

The farewell party, which took place in De Sales classroom 105, consisted of root beer floats and bittersweet goodbyes for Father Wainwright.

Father Wainwright appreciates the years he spent ministering to the CCHS community.

“Thank you for everything [CCHS has] done for me,” Father Wainwright said. “Work always to obtain true happiness, which is obtained by knowing, loving, and serving God. Jesus, who loves you infinitely, is waiting for you to visit Him in the Eucharist in our chapel.”
