Beach Benefits: San Diego’s True Beauty
Are you depressed? Feeling down after a hard week of school? Tis the season for the perfect place to unwind… The Beach!
Living in Southern California is such a privilege for teens because of the weather. Now that the winter months are coming to a close, we have now unlocked an amazing feature. Blue skies, UV high, and a cool breeze brings opportunities to gather outside and enjoy the sun. The beach is the perfect at home vacation for all San Diego residents. Bring your towels, sunscreen, sunglasses and smiles, and enjoy a day of relaxation.
When you search up “What San Diego is famous for?” this is what is written, “San Diego is renowned for its idyllic climate, 70 miles of pristine beaches…” Senior Cary Kordas, avid beach goer, provides some reasons he enjoys the beach “I like going in the water mostly when it’s really hot and body surfing with my friends for hours. I also like playing spike ball on the beach and laying in the hot sand.”
The beach is an all access pass to a whole new world. We are able to see a glimpse of the lives of water life. In La Jolla for instance, you are able to be one with sea lions and birds at La Jolla cove. Those that are brave can book Kayaks where you are taken through Caves and and see the city of La Jolla and coast of San Diego as if you are a voyager discovering new lands.
Another great way to gain more knowledge on the beauty the ocean brings San Diego is to visit the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla. The aquarium offers an opportunity to be one with ocean wildlife. With over 60 habitats, you are able to see your favorite underwater creatures. It was also home to the Cathedral Catholic senior prom!
Gather some friends and turn on your favorite “summer vibes” playlist and enjoy some vitamin ‘sea’ as soon as you can!
