The Weekender: Introduction
October 23, 2015
Dear Reader,
My name is Kelsey Bacinett and I introduce you to “The Weekender”. My column will divulge you to the world around us in San Diego and beyond, exploring things to do, places to eat, places to visit, and ways to spend your extra time on those few days we have off of school.
Growing up in San Diego, I’ve spent my time outside of school and sports exploring all that San Diego has to offer. Here at “The Weekender”, I’ll show you around the city that is our backyard, filled with familiar favorites and new things to discover.
“The Weekender” will cover anything pertaining to the weekend, a broad column that I intend to encompass a spectrum of topics. Whether it be an extended weekend trip across the country or a nice day at home reading a book, weekends vary from one to another.
The weekend should be a time to decompress your often stressful week at school and take some time for yourself to choose your own adventure.
In the words of John Green, “I go to seek a great perhaps.” I seek to show you, reader, something new about a familiar, or not so familiar for some, place. We all have something greater inside of us just waiting to be discovered, like the many aspects of San Diego and further. May “The Weekender” help you ever so slightly to discover something about yourself by exploring your own surroundings.
XOXO,
Kelsey
