Living the fourth

Unbeknownst to many underclassmen, Kairos retreats are the senior-led retreats most seniors choose to attend throughout the school year in order to grow in their faith.

Kairos, a biblical term meaning “special time”, has often been described as a unifying experience due to the intimate small groups formed at the Palomar Christian Conference Center.

“Kairos is so meaningful to the students,” administrative assistant to mission and ministry Mrs. Mallory Sigmon said. “It’s the rare opportunity to take three days away from our hectic lives, go up in the mountains, and be one with nature and our fellow classmates during the craziness of senior year.”

The retreat leaves attendees with the mantra “Live the Fourth”, referring to the day when students return from the retreat. This day, the fourth day, is meant to serve as a new beginning for the seniors.

The most recent retreat, Kairos 11, returned last Friday, while the next group will not attend until November.
