After construction began in July, the new science, technology, and mathematics building continues to grow in the Cathedral Catholic High School engineering workspace with the goal to improve the CCHS engineering and STEAM programs, allowing students to expand on creativity and receive greater opportunities.

“Our engineering program currently runs in a building made for maintenance,” director of facilities Mr. Sal Aiello said. “[The engineering program’s] growth is really what pushed us to the new addition that will allow for three times the class sizes for different purposes.”

The new addition, located across from Manchester Stadium, will consist of a robotics classroom, a computer lab focused on digital engineering, and a robotics test zone.

CCHS facilities estimates the building’s completion by the second semester of the current 2018-2019 school year.

“The goal is to be able to accommodate all of the students and allow them to grow in their engineering and robotics passions,” Mr. Aiello said.
