The Associated Student Body (ASB) is hosting Club Week this week to offer students the chance to join student-led service, religious, and social clubs on campus.

During Club Week, 54 clubs publicize themselves at lunch with posters, food, and sign-up sheets for prospective members.

“It is important that people go to Club Week and sign up because they will not be able to sign up for a club afterwards,” junior Jaclyn Wachs, the Commissioner of Clubs for ASB, said.

Students are encouraged to attend every day of Club Week, as different clubs are presented every day. Not only does this daily rotation keep each day of Club Week different, but it also helps distribute the large number of clubs throughout the week.

“Clubs are a great way for all students to come together and meet,”  junior Aaron Quini, leader of the Hip Hop and Urban Dance Club, said. “It is also a great opportunity for freshman to join the community.”

For all students, joining a club can expand their circle of friends. Especially for freshmen, Club Week serves as a head start into a community, creating an opportunity to meet new people who might share similar interests.

One of the returning clubs, Role Playing Games (RPG) Club, focuses on giving students the opportunity to participate in RPG during lunch. Sophomore Paul Renshaw, the leader of the Role Playing Games Club, hopes students will see the club’s “sick” poster during Club Week and will join the club this year.

ASB hopes all students will join their peers in building communities throughout Club Week.
