This article is part of a series focused on this year’s motto of Unum: Engage, which highlights how students engage as one in different groups across campus.
The boys’ lacrosse season is coming to an exciting start here at CCHS. After months of early morning practices and preparation, the boys are ready to play.
The team is currently 4-0, starting their season extremely strong! Tomorrow, they will play rival team Torrey Pines. Let’s get a deeper look into how the season is going and get the players’ perspective on the season so far.
Each player pushes themselves towards improvement whether that be in practice or not. Sophomore Barron Wells highlights the team’s determination. “The team has practice every day after school that consists of reviewing film or doing lifts,” Wells explains. “After that, we go into practice from 4-6PM where we start with warm-ups. Next, the offense and defense split into positional work. Lastly, both offense and defense come together to do small-sided drills. We finish with 6 vs 6.”
The boys are focused on making every practice and game count, as they continue to improve their skills and their chemistry as a team.
Captain Lance Biagioli emphasizes the goals and hopes the team has as the season progresses: “As a team, our main goal for the season is to play as a unit no matter the challenges we face. Everyone has been putting in the effort at practice, and it is really showing in our games. We are also focused on improvement week by week making this a season to remember.”
The team is determined to keep improving and make the most out of their season. We truly can’t wait to see what has to come for this team!
Freshman Tobias Kell, one of the team’s standout players, leading the team in goals, explains how his first season has been going. “I made varsity as a freshman, so my first season on the team has been an amazing experience so far,” says Kell. “Getting to bond and grow closer to my teammates has been so special. I can’t wait to see where the season takes us as a team.”
The team has both experienced leaders and rising talent on the team. They are ready to take on the challenges ahead as the season progresses. Their hard work, team spirit, and passion for the game will be crucial as they push toward a successful season.
