Art around campus

Cathedral Catholic High School hosts this week its annual Visual and Performing Arts showcase with art on display in the Academic Center, and CCHS music performed last night in the Guadalupe theatre.

“The event this year is a little different because this is only the second year we are having the show in the Academic center rather than the lobby,” art teacher Mrs. Amanda Rybicki said. “We should also have more attendance to the music performance.”

In order to select the displays pieces, students chose their favorite art creation of the year, and the art department made sure to include a display from every art student.

More changes include pieces from the new metalwork and jewelry class, as well as a chance to win a pair of custom sneakers by donating to Father Joe’s Village, Mrs. Rybicki said.

“We have expanded quite a bit to be able to feature even more of the amazing work our students create in a more professional setting and expose more people to the exhibition,” Mrs. Rybicki said.
