The first tennis match didn’t end well for the Lady Dons, with an end score of 7-11. However, the team has a goal of getting back their winning streak that they’ve had before league games. The line ups for singles are looking strong Evangelique Kourie 25’, Ava Filipovic 25’, Ava Zamora 26’, as well as the Doubles line up Liana 25’ andvCate Tran 26’, Kaitlin Motto 26’ and Mckara Sweeney 24’.

Major highlights going on in the singles with Kourie serving an ace on the duces side the opponent lobbing the ball and evangelique kills it down the line away making the score 4-1 (30 – 0). Her next serve goes in, leading to the girl hitting a short ball and Evangelique running is smashing the ball down the line. End result score being 6-2 a win for the Dons number one singles player.

Moving on to the number one doubles, Gabrych and Tran. With the score being 5-5 (40- 30) they need a lead. Gabrych serving, she’s going safe and the ball goes in. The opponents attack and the ball and it cuts an angel and leads Tran far out to the left of the court. She volleys it over the net making it short. The opponents lob the ball, and Gabrych makes the final blow, slamming it down deep inside the court boundaries. That’s a win for the Lady Dons making the score 6-5. The end result score was 7-5, bringing the Dons tennis team back into the winning column.

Mirshah Misirlioglu ’25 describes the season as, “upbeat and competitive”.She also talks about team bonding,“we all have become really good friends and constantly hangout”. Misirlioglu summarizes how the team demonstrates sportsmanship “we always thank our competitors and compliment on their skills”. Lastly states how the future goals of the team are, “to not only demonstrate fluency but to play in unison as a team” and continues to say “I would hope to grow as a team in terms of technique and game play but also that we have more team bonding activities outside of school”

Lady Dons coming back into the winning column with a total score against Patrick Henry High School 16-2. Dons are looking strong for the next two games coming up next week.
