Dancing and famous people on a reality TV show, what else could anyone want? Dancing with the Stars has been a very popular show since it first aired in 2005. This past season, season 33, gained a lot of attention from social media. 

DWTS is an American dance competition show that pairs celebrities with professional dancers. Each couple competes in front of judges. After each week, the audience votes on a couple to see who progresses on to the next round. Every round, the couple is tasked to dance to a different genre of dance in a unique and interesting way. Currently, the judges of the show are Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Derek Hough, who have been judging on the show for a long time. Furthermore, the dancers that partnered with the celebrities are all professionally trained, returning for many seasons. The celebrities that are invited to the show range from actors, athletes, comedians, and even TikTok stars. 

Season 33 just recently came to a close. The season started with 24 celebrities and 24 dancers. In the finale, five contestants were left standing, after many ups and downs through the audience voting polls. The five were, Stephen Nedoroscik, Joey Graziadei, Danny Amendola, Ilona Maher, and Chandler Kinney, all fan favorites throughout the whole season. 

On social media, especially TikTok, season 33 was heavily followed. Many posted about their opinions, favorite moments, and even raw reactions to the dances. Furthermore, the contestants shared a lot of behind the scenes content on TikTok, giving the fans a taste of life on DWTS. Dancer Rylee Arnold and celebrity Ilona Maher documented their whole experience on the show.

Zsofia Grenevitch, captain of the dance team, said, “DWTS has always inspired me as a dancer, even when I was younger. Being able to get a behind the scenes look on the show made it so much more interesting to watch, especially since I am so familiar with the contestants.” The TikToks being made by the contestants, especially towards the end of the season, brought many viewers to the show, both new and old. “It was so fun to be able to see the reactions of others on dances in the show. Dance is now becoming entertaining for people beyond the dance world.” 

Every episode this past season was highly anticipated, but the finale of the season was the most anticipated out of all. After each couple performed two dances each, the winners of the whole season were Joey Graziadei, Bachelor star and Jenna Johnson, professional dancer. Many posted their reactions on social media, which was mostly excitement for the winning couple. This year, all the couples were highly-liked, making it so much more interesting for viewers. After a highly-watched season, so many viewers are excited for season 34.
