Ask Arcelita: Introduction

Ask Arcelita: Introduction

Arcelita Martin, Staff Writer

Dear Reader,

We all have one thing in common, we are all living on the same planet. This one similarity, amongst the millions of potential differences, connects us. It is what makes us human. Here at Ask Arcelita, our differences will work to our advantage. The way you view a situation may be completely different from the way I view it. This uniqueness is the beauty of our existence.

Growing up, I looked around and it seemed everyone had a “thing,” something they were good at or passionate about. Believe me, I have tried every “thing” to try and find my thing. From never playing a sport in my life, to joining a varsity team. I’ve tried it all, and enjoyed it all. Out of all the “things,” I have realized that people are my thing. I truly have a passion for the variance found person to person, and the uniqueness of every human being.

In writing this column, I consider it my responsibility to give you an honest view of your situation, an alternative perspective. It is my hope that when we “put our heads together,” your questions will be answered. I do, however write for a private newspaper, so the content of published advice must be kept appropriate. If you’re having a mid-youth crisis, please do not be shy to submit your question, as all submissions are anonymous and read with care.

You can submit a question by selecting the Ask Arcelita tab on the top of the El Cid website.

All I hope to accomplish here is to make someone’s day a little brighter, and a little clearer.

Always and Absolutely,

Arcelita
