Brady’s Last Dance
Seven super bowl victories, nine super bowl appearances, and 84,520 passing yards. All accomplishments of Tom Brady himself. The history of the NFL would not be the same without him, and it’s all coming to a close.
For a long while, there has been anticipation and speculation about when Tom Brady would retire, and now that he finally is, we look back on all his accomplishments throughout his career.
In 1995, Brady first had the spotlight on him while he played for the Michigan Wolverines. The Wolverines went 40-9, including the 20-5 record when Brady moved into the starting role as a junior and senior.
Stemming from Brady’s successful college football career, he then was drafted into the NFL to play for the New England Patriots. He was drafted in round 6 and was picked 199. Little did many know, Brady would become the face of the Patriots team for almost 20 years.
While Brady was on the Patriots team, he developed groundbreaking records that may never be broken. Some of these outstanding records include seven superbowl titles, oldest quarterback to win a superbowl, 22,938 passing yards at age 40, and so much more.
After his record breaking 20 years playing for the Patriots, he parted ways with his roots, and decided to gain the position of quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
This switch of teams in 2019 was a huge deal. Tom Brady is the commander of the field when coming to the Patriots. He ran the team, and yes they still had strong, suitable players, the Patriots would be losing a staple to a lot of their frequent victories.
In playing for the Buccaneers, Tom Brady still excelled. This proves to show that even if Brady has moved to twenty other teams, he still would have had the spotlight, because of him and his talent.
News of Brady’s confirmation of retirement broke out in the beginning of 2022. This announcement capped his career with 22 years of playing for the NFL.
Brady gave his everything. He dedicated thousands and thousands of hours with a football in his hands, doing what made him the happiest with the people who made him even happier. Although, this happy feeling doesn’t last forever.
Eventually, things must come to a close, no matter the success it has brought upon someone.
Being in his forties, Brady is much more likely to seriously injure himself and with a family to still look over for the rest of his life, he can’t take that chance.
He understood what he needed to do and felt the duties he pushed himself to accomplish had been finished. As Brady would say, “I think sometimes in life the biggest challenges end up being the best things that happen in your life.”
