Boys

The Cathedral Catholic High School varsity boys lacrosse team is back on the field for another season with after-school workouts the Dons to prepare for the upcoming season. 

“We are doing preseason workouts to prepare for the upcoming season,” CCHS student Ben Smith ‘22 said. “We do conditioning and lift to get stronger.” 

The Dons are led by University of Denver commit Christian Evans ‘20 and High Point University commit Connor Guiltinan ‘20. Along with Guiltinan and Evans, many other seniors make a significant impact on the squad. 

“Our senior captains drive this team and will be a key factor to our success,” Smith said. “We have a lot of young talent that will look to them for guidance and responsibilities.” 

The Dons opened up their season with a 16-7 win against Del Norte High School, 5-3 win against Santa Fe Christian School and 10-5 win against Rancho Bernardo High School. 

Girls

The Cathedral Catholic High School varsity girls lacrosse team is preparing for another great season with preseason workouts and dedicated attitudes. 

“We have started preseason many weeks in advance to the season,” CCHS student athlete Nastasha Tavares ‘22 said. “These workouts include cardio and conditioning.”

Every team has its leaders. For the Lady Dons, the leaders are the seniors who were the motivators for the preseason workouts. 

“Our seniors have led us in preseason training to prepare for the upcoming season,” Tavares said. “They help us work harder in everything we do as a team.”

The Lady Dons opened up its season with a 16-5 loss to Torrey Pines High School and hope to bounce back the rest of the season.
