The Cathedral Catholic High School girls varsity soccer team aims for the back of the net this season as it focuses on team bonding and working hard.

With few underclassmen on the highly competitive CCHS roster, the seniors and returning players are relied on to lead the team.

“The seniors lead the underclassmen by bringing us together before practices, leading practices, and working together to be the best role models for us,” CCHS player Mia Adams ‘22 said.

CCHS believes team bonding and practice together is key for success this season.

Last season, the Lady Dons suffered a heart-breaking loss against their rival, the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, 1-0 in the California Interscholastic Federation San Diego Section California Interscholastic Federation Open Division Semifinals.

The Lady Dons opened up its season by cruising through the Butch Lee Memorial Tournament with wins over St. Margaret’s High School and Steel Canyon High School.

CCHS is towards the top of the county rankings, proving for another promising season.
