Girls soccer

After ending last year’s season with an overall record of (13-5–6) (4-2-2), the Cathedral Catholic High School varsity girls soccer team looks to achieve its high standard goals.

“Our team goals are to win the league, CIF, and State,” CCHS head coach Dawn Lee said.

With a group of girls from each grade, the Lady Dons have a balance of new and returning players. Leaders include Marie Temprendola ’19, Kelsey Oen ’19, and Kennedy Rawding ’19, who all have prior experience playing for Coach Lee. Rawding recently suffered a foot injury earlier this season but supports her teammates from the sidelines.

“We’ve only played a few games together, it’s still early to make any predictions,” Lee said.

“We have a great mix of players and hopefully as the season goes on we can continue to play great Dons soccer.”

CCHS participated in the Butch Lee Memorial Tournament, a tournament in which the Lady Dons went 3-1 and outscored its opponents 12-2.

CCHS looks to keep the momentum rolling as it goes into the Mater Dei Premier Invitational and league play later in the season.
