Coming back after winning a CIF open division championship last year, the varsity softball team, ranked fifth in the nation according to FloSoftball, aims to climb just as high this season.
“My biggest goal is to make it back to the CIF Open Division Championship and get the dub,” pitcher and UCLA commit Megan Faraimo ‘18 said.
Head coach Ms. Margaret Mauro lead her team to victory in the 2018 Cougar Classic Tournament, where the Dons defeated Olympian High School, Bonita Vista High School, Torrey Pines High School, Steele Canyon High School, Carlsbad High School, and Vista High School.
Faraimo pitched two perfect games, and standout players Sara Rusconi ‘19, Anna Herrmann ‘21, and Faraimo all hit home runs. Faraimo also hit a grandslam to help win the championship game.
“Achieving [our goals] is going to take a lot of teamwork and dedication throughout the entire season,” Faraimo said.
