The Cathedral Catholic High School Dons celebrated a busy week, including Chinese New Year, CIF qualifications, and varsity basketball victories. Chinese New Year occurred on Tuesday, and the Dons participated in the festivities with traditional dumplings and a performance from San Diego Legendary Lion Dance Association. Finishing its season 6-1-1 in Western League, the girls varsity soccer team recognized its seniors in two games against Olympian High School and La Jolla High School, and the squad will advance to playoffs on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Boys varsity basketball won 62-52 against rival Saint Augustine High School, improving its overall record to 19-9.
