Students will celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception with a school-wide Mass in the Claver Center Gymnasium this Tuesday following first period.

Though all Masses are special, this Mass is especially important because it is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, which celebrates Mary being conceived without original sin. The Mass will focus more in depth about the Immaculate Conception, preparing Catholics for the upcoming celebration of the birth of Jesus this month.

With their Christmas spirit in full effect, students are excited for this Mass.

“It’s a cool theme because it’s preparing us for Christmas and getting us pumped for Jesus to come,” student Bri Riley ’18 said.

Mass is a great opportunity for students to grow closer to God, and this Mass in particular serves as a learning experience for students to get educated about the Immaculate Conception.

One major way to deepen one’s relationship with God is to participate in singing praise songs. As always, students are highly encouraged to sing along with the choir.

“The choir would really appreciate some other voices singing along with us,” Schola Campus Minister Leigh Palmer ’17 said. “I think it’s a great way to bring the whole school together as a community and each student closer to God.”

Students are required to wear dress up uniforms. The CCHS Handbook contains the dress code requirements for dress-up days.

The basic attire for boys includes a solid, white, button-down, collared dress shirt with a tie and uniform pants with a belt. Shoes must be solid black/brown leather or leather-like material.

For the girls, the basic requirements are a solid, white, button-down shirt, uniform skirt and leather or leather-like shoes with a heel strap and a closed-toe.
