Meet James Morris, a young and talented junior here at Cathedral Catholic High School. James has now released three albums, and is going to Arizona to finish up his next studio album. He and his band have not been working together over the summer, but he is now working with older and more experienced artists.
James tells us that his music is all about “real” stuff, life experiences, emotions, and feelings.
He said, “My music can be as deep as a stupid crush to something that shakes the foundation of your life.”
Though he does not sound like them, James looks up to bands like Linkin Park, Green Day, and My Chemical Romance.
When asked if balancing everything in his life gets hard sometimes, James answered with a simple, “Extremely.” He says balancing everything in his life, such as music, school, and personal life can be hard most of the time because there is always so much going on.
James spent most of his summer writing his book, which is a science fiction story. This occupied most of his time this summer.
James is also very well involved in a few different charities, such as, Gina for Missing Persons FOUNDation, Rady Children’s Hospital, Do Something, and many more. A charity tour that James is involved in is going to be launched in November for Gina for Missing Persons FOUNDation.
James has grown a lot since freshman year, and his rise to fame is growing more and more each year. Check him out this year at his shows at Soma and House of Blues.
