In this issue of El Cid, mini courses took place for the entire school. New teachers such as French teacher Madame Chaillou and religion teacher Father David Tassi joined the faculty. The annual recruitment of eight graders had begun, and a power failure allowed students to get out early! Ads solicited driving schools and florists. Valentine’s Day dedications and a love column appealed to the student body’s more adolescent side. The Sadie Hawkins dance was explained, including quotes from the students. Soccer and wrestling matches were explored, and the Dons were enduring a bit of a losing streak at this issue’s publication.
