Last weekend, Cathedral hosted a mother-son brunch for the senior students. Students enjoyed time with friends and family over a delicious brunch.

On Saturday morning of last week, Cathedral’s male senior class gathered alongside their mothers for a morning of celebration. The day began with a mass and finished with a brunch where several student speakers took the stage to speak about their relationships with their mothers. Seniors had a great time reconnecting with one another while enjoying breakfast.

Stacy Wells, one of the directors of Mission and Ministry, was the one who brought this idea to life. She remarked that her Catholic High School would hold mother-son events, and it was something that she wanted to bring to Cathedral Catholic. A group of parent volunteers then took this idea and ran with it, organizing the event and decorating the theater, making it a beautiful and festive place to hold Cathedral’s first event of this kind.

I had the opportunity to be a part of this event by taking photos. I got to observe the joy in the room, and listen to the heartfelt speeches. Although this was Cathedral’s first mother-son brunch, I know, based on the enthusiasm of the guests, that it will not be the last.
