Ready to reminisce

Yearbooks for the 2019-2020 school year are completed and ready for Cathedral Catholic High School students to pick up on campus. In order to follow social distancing guidelines, CCHS instructs those planning to receive yearbooks in front of Guadalupe Theater to remain in their vehicles during distribution.

“Our staff will also be adhering to the public health guidelines on social distancing and following established public health and district protocols.” said a statement from the school Wednesday. “This will not be a time for students to socialize, so please discuss with your children the need to practice social distancing at this time.”

There is a schedule for pick up times, with Juniors on Friday, Sophomores on Monday, and Freshmen on Tuesday, all taking place from 5-7 pm. Seniors were already able to get their yearbooks at the Senior Parade held Saturday, but may also arrive at these times if they did not yet receive one.

CCHS requests that any vehicle arriving for pick up should have a piece of paper posted on the passenger side window displaying information including the student’s name, their ID number, and their grade level. If they were a yearbook staff member or a writer for this school year, they should also indicate as such on the paper.

Yearbook staff have altered much of this year’s format in light of the coronavirus and the many school event cancellations that followed.

“In order to adjust to the interference of the coronavirus, we had to change around several of our spreads to make them focus on topics related to quarantine,” CCHS yearbook staff member Lael Czerniak ‘22 said. “We sent out surveys to students so we could highlight distance learning, home work spaces, and adjustment to our new living situation.

“We tried really hard to make it the best one yet and to showcase the most amazing things that Cathedral has to offer.”
