Cathedral Catholic High School varsity football Head Coach Sean Doyle achieved his 200th career victory last Friday in a 44-7 win against Eastlake High School.

During Coach Doyle’s time at the helm for the Dons since 1996, CCHS tallied 16 Western League titles, 10 San Diego Section California Interscholastic Federation Championships, and two State Championships.

Doyle’s latest feat makes him the tenth coach in San Diego County to reach the 200 win mark. CCHS players were aware of the importance and worked hard to win for their coach.

“Prior to the game, the goal was to get Coach Doyle his 200th win,” CCHS center Jake Cassidy ‘20 said.

“Coach Doyle is always there for us and is a mentor on and off the field,” Cassidy said. “The Dons football program wouldn’t be where it is without Coach Doyle.”

CCHS looks to reach the 5-1 mark this Friday as it takes on Otay Ranch High School at home.
