The Cathedral Catholic High School varsity girls lacrosse team defeated Mission Hills High School 11-9 last Saturday to capture the San Diego Section Division I California Interscholastic Federation Championship.

The Lady Dons cruised through the playoffs by winning three contests against Pacific Ridge School, Granite Hills High School, and Mission Hills High School. CCHS outscored its opponents 35-22 in the three playoff games.

CCHS made big steps as the season progressed to the playoffs.

“In the playoffs we worked as a team and not individuals,” Makenna Doan ‘21 said. “It was a big improvement from the beginning of the season.”

The Lady Dons shared the common goal of gaining chemistry and success.

“Our team goal was to have a great season and become closer as a team,” Doan said.
