Prospective magazine editors gather

Approximately 25 Cathedral Catholic High School students gathered in Mrs. Catharine Kirby’s room for the annual El Sol luncheon, an event where prospective magazine editors learned more about the El Sol magazine.

“[El Sol] publishes students’ works in drawing, painting, photography, graphics, sculpture, creative writing, poetry, and this year [the magazine] will also include recorded submissions from drama,” El Sol adviser Mrs. Kirby said.

During the luncheon, students became aware of different roles available in publication, allowing students to thrive throughout the editing and designing processes.

Hoping to include submissions from the academy and options students, El Sol desires to expand the magazine and inspire more students to participate in this innovative process, Mrs. Kirby said.

El Sol is a long-standing celebration of our school’s artistic achievements in creative writing and visual and performing arts,” Mrs. Kirby said.
