Lady Dons head to championship

The Cathedral Catholic High School varsity girls volleyball team defeated The Bishop’s School in the California Interscholastic Federation semifinal game yesterday in three straight sets.

The Don’s explosive offense helped them control a majority of the match

“By passing well, we were able to switch up our offense and run different combination plays,” CCHS outside hitter Peyton Wilhite ‘19 said. “We served really tough and put them out of system a lot, which made it easier for us to continue our momentum offensively.”

After yesterday’s victory, CCHS advances to the CIF Open Division championship Saturday against Torrey Pines High School.

CCHS and TPHS split 1-1 during the season, and championship has promise for a great match.

“I think it’s going to be an intense match and one of the most exciting matches of the season,” Wilhite said.
