The Cathedral Catholic High School boys varsity water polo team topped Poway High School today with a final score of 14-3.

A horde of CCHS students came to support the team during lunch break at the 11a.m. home tournament.

“Once the crowed showed up and we got full stands, the boys fed off of the love and the energy of the crowd,” Assistant Coach Mr. Jake Hodgens said.

With an astonishing block by goalie Cole Middleton, the boys kept their offense going. The boys shut down every play the opposing team attempted, and made goal after goal.

Today’s game was their first in the America’s Finest City Tournament.

“It was nice to [start out] with a big win,” Cooper Milton, #14, said.
