Girls volleyball continues quest for state championship
By Emily Tucker, Staff Writer
Senior Tatiana Durr led Lady Dons volleyball to their seventh consecutive Division III Championship on Saturday November 17th. Their victory over Del Norte marked the team’s 20th CIF title, more than any other team in Cathedral/Uni history. Tatiana had nineteen kills along with four blocks and three assists during the game.
With Coach Kelly Drobeck, two freshmen, four sophomores, three juniors, and five seniors the undefeated Lady Dons volleyball team continued their quest for another state championship when they beat the Hemet Bulldogs 3-0 at home on Tuesday, November 20th in the first round of the CIF State Playoffs.
As always, senior leadership was evident. Seniors Lauren Miller and Krissy Witous help set the tone with their calm, positive demeanors and strong performances on the court. Krissy will be playing volleyball next year at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
The team will be set against the Windward Wildcats next on Saturday, November 24th.
