Depp vs Heard
Johnny Depp is one of the most legendary, unforgettable actors in cinematic history. Taking leaps of faith into his characters, he’s successfully portrayed the roles of Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka, Edward Scissorhands and many more lovable characters.
Behind the scenes, Depp has been facing his own struggles with his now ex wife Amber Heard.
In 2009, Depp worked on a movie titled The Rum Diary featuring co-star at the time, Amber Heard. After this movie was filmed and produced, Depp and Heard continued their romantic relationship that was portrayed in the movie into real life.
They grew more and more fond of each other and revealed that they were engaged in 2014. The couple seemed to be in a happy, healthy relationship until just 15 months later, Heard had filed for a divorce due to Depp abusing her under the influence and had requested a seven million dollar settlement.
As three years went on since the claim of abuse, the press and public speculated and searched for answers in regard to if it were true or not.
Meanwhile, Depp continues to deny all allegations of abuse towards Heard, including that Depp “threatened to kill her” on several separate occasions.
Jumping to the present day in 2022, Depp and Heard settle this major disagreement in court. First taking the stand on Tuesday, April 19, Depp begins to share his side of the story.
Depp argues the point that he grew up with an abusive mother, which makes him struggle with substance abuse and an unhealthy relationship with Heard, although he has never and will never lay a hand on Heard or any other woman.
Depp filed a lawsuit against Heard for about $50 million for lying in her article with The Washington Post and referring to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.
Depp then goes into specific detail about how Heard was actually the one abusing Depp, claiming to cut the tip of his finger off, and causing other serious injuries.
Heard of course opposed this argument by saying that anytime she ever resorted to a violent alternative was for self defense for her protection.
Heard has not testified on her behalf yet, although as updates come out everyday for the next estimated six weeks, new shocking information and evidence is continuously revealed.
