Dons will crowd the Claver Center on Saturday, Oct. 3 for “A Very Merry Un-Homecoming,” an event that has been in production for months.

“Homecoming prep started last year with the choosing of the theme and we’ve been preparing all this school year for it,” Associated Student Body (ASB) President Matthew Elliot said.

This year’s Alice in Wonderland themed homecoming dance will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., doors closing at 8 p.m. and reopening at 10 p.m.

Students can expect this year’s homecoming dance to be better than last year.

“We went all out with the decorations. We have a really fun theme, good music, and plenty of snacks and desserts,” Elliot said. “Our DJ is awesome, so there will be guaranteed fun on the dance floor.”

Planning a large event like homecoming is not an easy task, and ASB gives their all to make it a successful event.

“The biggest challenge is preparing all the decorations,” Elliot said. “There’s a set budget to work with for ordering decorations and ASB has to make the rest [of the money]. We’ve been working nonstop over the last month making and preparing decorations for the dance.”

Students are encouraged to dress appropriately so that they will be admitted to the dance. Dress code guidelines have been emailed to students individually and are also available on the CCHS homepage and ASB Facebook page.
