Mrs. Beatriz Wallace

The number of Cathedral Catholic High School campus couples increased by one this year with the addition of Dean of Students Mr. Michael Wallace’s wife Mrs. Beatriz Wallace, who currently serves as Principal Dr. Kevin Calkins’ assistant.

“First few weeks have been awesome,” Mrs. Wallace said. “Honestly, there’s a lot of information to take in, but as far as the relationships and the friendships with my coworkers go, I couldn’t ask for more.”

Originally from Mexico, Mrs. Wallace moved to San Diego when she was nine years old, and she has resided since 1989. After graduating from San Diego State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in child and family development, Mrs. Wallace worked at a preschool before she served as a stay-at-home mom for four years.

“That’s something I truly enjoy,” Mrs. Wallace said. “I love working with children, especially ages six and under.”

Although she does share the campus with an actual member of her family, Mrs. Wallace emphasizes the familial atmosphere at CCHS.

“Everyone here is super supportive,” Mrs. Wallace said. “They make you feel right at home, like you’ve been a part of the family all along.

“The family aspect is one of the reasons why I wanted to work here.”

Moving forward, Mrs. Wallace looks forward to offering everything she can to CCHS and fellow staff members.

“I can’t help as much as I should because I’m still learning,” Mrs. Wallace said. “I’m looking forward to being a greater part of the team.”
