After a successful season last year in which it earned a high seed in the Open Division of the California Interscholastic Federation San Diego Section playoffs, the Cathedral Catholic High School varsity boys lacrosse team possess similar expectations for this year.
“Our goals are to improve every game as the year goes on and to make a run in the playoffs,” CCHS player Colman Smith ‘21 said.
The Dons have gotten off to a successful start, but CCHS knows it will face tough opponents as the year progresses.
“We have gotten off to a good start winning our first few games,” Smith said. “Our big games as always are Torrey Pines High School, Coronado High School, and La Costa Canyon High School.”
CCHS is full of young talent and first-year varsity players, competing in more games benefits the Dons.
“We have a lot of young guys, so we need to keep improving every game as the year goes on,” Smith said. “We are starting to build more chemistry as we become more experienced as a team.”
