The Cathedral Catholic High School boys varsity tennis team looks to attack the upcoming season with immense workouts and practice.

“We run for an extensive amount of time, we do a lot of core workouts, and we do a lot of reflex and agility drills,” CCHS player Nathaniel Siry ‘21 said.

The Dons compete against the best competition in San Diego County, leading to solid opposing teams in the 2020 season.

“We’re Division I this year, and some of our big opponents are Coronado, Rancho Bernardo, and Westview,” Siry said.

Seniors contribute mightily towards the Dons effort this season, as many key players return this spring.

“A lot of our seniors are key players, such as Nathaniel Brandemer ‘20 and Charles Qian ‘20,” Siry said. “We rely on their play and leadership to help us get competitive.”

The Dons began the season with matches against Scripps Ranch High School and La Costa Canyon High School this week.
