La Jolla Shores

Would your local summer be truly complete without countless trips to the beach?

La Jolla Shores is a mile-long crescent of wide sandy shores and spectacular views perfect for all beachgoers. Shielded by La Jolla Bay, the beach is popular among families and surfers as well as scuba divers and kayakers.

La Jolla Cove, a small deep water bay, is a short distance from La Jolla Shores, making it a popular kayaking area. In fact, a common kayaking path begins at the La Jolla Cove ending on the beach.

La Jolla Kayak offers various tours including Kayak and Snorkel Tours in which you can explore marine life along the Pacific Coast.

Lifeguards are stationed at La Jolla Shores and La Jolla Cove starting at 9:00 a.m. until dusk, ensuring your beach visit will be a safe one. After dark, the beach is lit by the glow of beach bonfires.

“I enjoy walking the shore with my dog and viewing the beauty of the ocean, which is perfect for summertime pictures,” McIntosh said.
