More than just a game

As it celebrates its 54th birthday this year, the annual Holy Bowl is the most highly anticipated event of the season for the Saint Augustine High School Saints and Cathedral Catholic High School Dons. This rivalry goes back decades, as the two main private Catholic high schools in San Diego County battle for the win and ultimate bragging rights. Although the Saintsmen prevailed at this year’s match, CCHS did not give up without a fight. Quarterback Thomas Kane-Berman ’18 found Colin Myers ’18 for a touchdown in the beginning of the second quarter, but their efforts were not enough to get the win. Aside from the game itself, there are many events and activities leading up to the Holy Bowl, including the Alumni tailgate, rally, and ASB pregame.
