El Cid

Angelina Hicks
Reading and writing rank as my primary passions, and I cannot wait to expand my writing skills as the El Cid copy editor and staff writer. Through the journalism program, I aim to take risks and step out of my comfort zone in order to succeed and create an online publication that makes the Cathedral Catholic High School community proud. I plan to compose fantastic, informative news stories while improving my writing throughout the school year. Outside of school, I spend my time playing softball, a sport that has shaped my life since the bright age of five years old. As a catcher, I constantly work hard and push myself in order to improve. During my freshman year, I played field hockey, rugby, and softball for CCHS. Although this schedule may sound hectic or overwhelming, I experienced an exciting year of physical challenges. Of course, this school year will push me not only physically, but also intellectually and academically as I grow as a journalist and person.
