Boys cross country team ‘sprinting towards success’

The Cathedral Catholic High School boys cross country team is running and practicing every day after school for their upcoming season. Head Coach Mr. Dan Geiger led the team to victory last year, and helped them earn the #1 ranking in San Diego.

Because of last year’s success, the team will be attending the Stanford Invitational later this month.

“Our commitment to summer training has really helped improve the team dynamic,” Junior Daniel Robinson, a third year retuning varsity runner, said. “The altitude training camp in Big Bear additionally prepared us for the upcoming season, I hope we sprint towards success this year.”

The team strives to be CIF champions, league champions, and top ten in the state this year. The team members hold high expectations for themselves and each other.

“I’m expecting the team this year to work as hard as they can to make our goals attainable,” Mr. Geiger said.

Working hard, pushing through challenges, giving one-hundred percent, and ultimately winning are all attainable in the eyes of Geiger.

Working to achieve their goals and having fun, the boys cross country team is looking forward to yet another successful season.
