Fresh start for freshmen

The Cathedral Catholic High School freshman class will experience its first retreat titled “Let My Gifts Change the World,” from 8:00 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. today and tomorrow on campus.

Focusing on students and their unique ability to become strong community members, the retreat aims to help the freshman class build new relationships with its peers.

“We want them to feel like they’re part of the school already, and the more comfortable they are being around each other and knowing each other, the better they can practice their spirituality,” CCHS Dean of Mission and Ministry Mrs. Stacy Wells said.

Consisting of freshman small groups lead by a junior or senior campus ministry student, the retreat starts officially after morning attendance. Freshman students will attend retreat on either Wednesday or Thursday, with the schedule split between students with last names starting with A-Le and Li-Z, respectively.

“It’s really about recognizing who we are as people and understanding what our gifts are, and how we can start to bring them to fruition,” Mrs. Wells said. “We start to know each other and share our gifts with each other.”
